ASM Kart Engineer – Smarter Kart Setup and Data Analysis
ASM Kart Engineer is a kart setup and telemetry platform built to help racers organise setups, manage race days and understand data from their kart data logger without spending hours digging through graphs.
It works on mobile and PC, so you can use it quickly at the track and then go deeper into the data later on a laptop or desktop.

Keep your kart setups organised
Save complete baseline setups for individual karts and tracks, including:
- Front and rear track
- Axles and hubs
- Gearing
- Ride height
- Torsion bars
- Seat information
- Rim configuration
- Starting tyre pressures
- Setup notes
When you return to a track, simply copy the baseline into your Race Day rather than trying to remember what worked last time.


Manage the whole Race Day
ASM Kart Engineer follows the kart through the meeting.
For example:
Baseline → Qualifying → Heat 1 → Heat 2 → Final
Each session can have its own:
- Setup
- Tyre information
- Driver feedback
- Mechanic notes
- Proposed changes
- Data logger telemetry
- Lap times
Make a change after Qualifying, duplicate the setup into Heat 1 and keep a clear record of exactly what changed.

Import your kart data and link it to the setup you actually ran
Telemetry exported from your kart data logger can be imported into ASM Kart Engineer and linked directly to the Race Day session it belongs to.
That means the data stays connected to the exact setup used for that run.
Instead of wondering:
“Was this the run before or after we changed the rear hubs?”
the session history shows you clearly.
Current development is focused on MyChron / Race Studio data, with Alfano support planned as the next major logger integration.
The goal is for ASM Kart Engineer to work with the major data logging systems used in karting, rather than being tied to one particular brand.
Find where the lap time changed
ASM Kart Engineer automatically processes the imported telemetry and shows where time was gained and lost.
It can compare measured information including:
- Entry speed
- Minimum speed
- Exit speed
- Steering angle
- Lateral G
- Longitudinal G
- Yaw rate
- RPM
- Lambda
- Water temperature
Instead of simply seeing that one lap was two tenths faster, you can see where those two tenths came from.
For example:
Corner 3: 0.08 seconds gained
Minimum speed: +2.1 km/h
Steering: −3.4°
Lateral G: +0.05 G
The software gives you the information and lets the driver or engineer decide what it means.

Compare setup changes against the result
When both sessions have setups attached, ASM Kart Engineer can show the actual setup changes beside the telemetry.
For example:
Qualifying → Heat 1
Front track
1175 → 1185 mm
Rear hubs
90 → 60 mm
Gearing
11/77 → 11/78
You can then see what changed in speed, G-force, steering and lap time.
Record what changed. Measure what happened. Make the next decision based on evidence.
Track maps, splits and individual sensors
Visual track maps make it easy to understand where each corner, straight and split is located.
You can also inspect individual channels such as:
- Speed
- RPM
- Steering
- Lambda
- Lateral G
- Longitudinal G
- Water temperature
View one session on its own or overlay two sessions for comparison.
Engine and lambda analysis
ASM Kart Engineer can also analyse sustained full-load lambda on individual straights where that data is available from the logger.
Instead of manually searching through thousands of telemetry samples, it can identify useful readings such as:
Straight 3
Leanest sustained lambda: 0.98
RPM: 12,100
Speed: 84 km/h
Further engine-analysis features are continuing to be developed.

Support for MyChron and Alfano
ASM Kart Engineer is being developed to support the major data systems commonly used in karting.
MyChron / AiM
MyChron data exported through Race Studio is currently the main supported telemetry format and is being used extensively during development and testing.
Alfano
Alfano support is planned and will be added as development continues.
The intention is for Alfano users to be able to import their kart data, link it to Race Day sessions and use the same:
- Lap analysis
- Split comparison
- Track maps
- Speed comparison
- RPM analysis
- G-force analysis
- Engine-data review
The long-term goal is simple:
Use the logger you already have. ASM Kart Engineer helps you make sense of the data.
Use it on your phone at the track and your PC at home
ASM Kart Engineer is web-based and works across:
- Mobile phones
- Tablets
- Laptops
- Desktop computers
Use the mobile version between sessions to check setups and results, then use the larger desktop view later for detailed telemetry analysis.
